Chan Kim is originally from Suwon, South Korea, but grew up in Hawaii and played his college golf at Arizona State University before turning professional in 2010.
Kim built much of his early success internationally, especially on the Japan Golf Tour, where he won eight tournaments and earned accolades including Rookie of the Year and leading the money list. In 2023 he made a breakthrough on the Korn Ferry Tour, winning back-to-back events, including the Albertsons Boise Open, and became the first player in tour history to win a tournament without making a bogey, which helped secure his first PGA Tour card.
His major championship highlights include a tie for 11th at The Open Championship in 2017.
